Families in the New York City NSP2 Buyer Assistance Program will select one of our partners as their NSP2 counseling agency. You will take both their HUD approved eight hour homebuyer education course and a three hour NSP2 REO workshop. During one-on-one mortgage counseling, a homeownership counselor will certify your NSP2 eligibility and help secure loan pre-approvals from participating lenders. Your counselor will also help you assemble the home buying team of professionals needed to purchase a home. And they will carefully analyze your finances with you to make sure you secure a mortgage you can afford.
